What was glenkindie arms hotel?

When it was built about 400 years ago it was a drovers inn. The steadings opposite used to be the resting place for the Cattle which were being taken to market. If you look from the Hotel towards the steadings the extreme left hand side was a water mill used for grinding corn etc for feed and flour. The waste ground to the left of the Hotel was used as a dam for the water which fed the mill. The inn then underwent some refurbishment in 1821 and became a freemasons meeting place and function room, this is why it is still known as "the Lodge". It is currently trading as a Pub / Hotel serving traditional food and local ales.
