Why do girls shave their heads?

Not all girls shave their heads. The main reason that some girls shave their heads is because they want attention, or they want to be 'unique'. However, they might not have shaved it, they may have cancer or alopecia which causes their hair to fall out. But if a girl wants to shave her hair off, she should be able to do so freely. It's her decision.

The shaven head is not as popular for women as men, but the style is still occasionally found. There are several possible reasons why a woman might be bald.

• Female baldness
• Chemotherapy (in preparation or as a result of)
• Damaged hair (i.e. "starting over")
• Celebrity look-alike
• For a job (e.g. actress)
• Political statement
• Because they want to!

Remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and everyone has different preferences. What is unappealing to you may be perfect for others!
