Sprinkler and drip irrigation are most effective type of irrigation.
Sprinkler irrigation:
It is method of applying of water in the form of a spray,somewhat as in ordinary rain, as is done in the garden lawn sprinkling.
Drip irrigation:
Water is conveyed through a system of flexible pipelines operating at low pressure and it is applied to the plant through drip nozzles. This technique is also called as feeding bottle technique.
