Have really mixed hair underneath its really curly and on top its straight and wavy its really thick so it just poofs out and its fairly long straighten it lots but need to find nice quick new style?

I have the same problem. . .my hair is wavy/curly underneath, so when i brush it my hair looks uneven and just messed up. So what I got to fix it was getting layers, to even out my hair so it wouldn't look so weird in the back, or you could scrunch it.
