What does a browser do?

Browsers are a kind of translators, that convert a web page developed using HTML tags into what we see as a web page. If you select 'view source' by right clicking a web page on Windows os, you can see the code that the browser used to create the page you are viewing. Internally they use layout engines to render the page.
