What significance of the wearing of the poppy red flower?

There are many answers to this question, non are wrong, non are right, they are mearly the opinion of the writer.

I on remembrance day 11th of November in the UK, wear 3. I chose to wear three as I have done for many years for those who have given their lives for "our past, our present and our future"

Manyy of you may have heard of the poem, *In Flanders fields.... where poppies grow* if not look it up, it's what most embraces the meaning of wearing a poppy today.
