Is the Canadian lynx on the endangered species list?

The Canada lynx was listed as a threatened species in the contiguous United States in 2000. Technically, this means that it is on the endangered species list, but being threatened and endangered are different. Threatened species are species that are likely to become endangered within the foreseeable future throughout all or a significant portion of their range.
