I am a man, and I have learned to put the seat down, without protest. I think I can clear things up for humankind... you're welcome! :-)

Men feel discriminated against on the whole seat issue. The argument goes something like this: men should put down the seat because women might be too tired to put the seat down, and then sit on the rim. The man says: I agree, that would be a drag...but I never forget to put the seat up in the middle of the night, why should I have to do it, but not you. Why don't women put the seat up?

Here is the solution: Everyone has to put the seat AND lid down every time. Why? Because that is the disgusting hole that we all poop and pee in. I mean, if you had a bucket in the bathroom that you had to go in, you would want to, AT LEAST, put a lid on the bucket, even after it was emptied. Why would anyone ever want to keep the lid open after that realization? How could anyone ever argue with that logic?

Especially if you have kids, and absolutely if you have babies!

It will take awhile for men to remember... after all, we've been leaving it up for our whole lives, and only trying to change our routine very recently. Don't get on our case about it, or you'll blow the whole thing! Seriously! Just a simple reminder will suffice. After awhile, we'll remember and go back in. Awhile later, we'll stop at the door and go back. Eventually, we'll remember, and it will be 2nd nature.

I even put the seat down in public men's rooms without thinking about it! LOL

PS- Men aren't lying when we claim not to pee on the rim... It is splashback, and we don't realize it's happening. After this realization, most men won't mind wiping it every day or two. Baby wipes on the back of the toilet make it easy for us.
