What is the step by step process and length of time it takes to join the coast guard?

first you have to have practice on a boat, sign up to get your boating license and take classes. that's what i know because my boyfriend has his boating liscense and owns a ship...the rest maybe you should ask a teacher, someone older then you, or go online to a website for coast guarding(: good luck
