Why do female goats produce milk if they aren't pregnant?

Female goats, like other mammals, produce milk primarily to nourish their offspring. However, they can also produce milk outside of pregnancy due to the stimulation of their mammary glands through milking or suckling. This process can trigger hormonal changes that promote milk production, allowing them to continue lactating even when not pregnant.
