Who is the protagonist in the father by Hugh garner?

There is a boy and he lives with his mother, father and sister. Although, his father makes no contributions to the family. He is always busy with his work and never eats at the dinner table with his family. He socially abuses his family, especially his son. He is not involved with their lives. He has no idea what Baseball team his son even plays on. The son has become so distant to his father that he has gone to a neighbors to ask for help on a father, son project because he is to afraid to ask his father. The boy soon has a banquet where fathers are expected to attend. The father dreads the event in advance already. He only attends because his wife forces him too. He drinks a load of alcohol before the event, trying to drain his stress. Once he reaches the event he is drunk and completely humiliates his son. He falls over and pushes his son around, unaware. His son is so embarrassed and will not even accept his father's insincere apology. The story has a sad ending, but states a genuine moral.
