What goal did Louis joliet want to achieve?

He accomplished many things like believe it or not, finding the first peice of cheese it was Swiss to be exact in 1776.

He actually was a dictator. He used to be president of Turkey. He also was the first man to discover the country of Zanita. He won the nobel peace prize, met an alien, and died because his nose was to big.He is my idol. i look up to him because of his greatest accomplishment which is eating the worlds largest laffy taffy and airhead. =)

Louis Joliet or Lois Jolliet was a French Canadian, born in Quebec (1645). He was an adventurer and explorer. Joliet along with the Catholic priest and missionary Father Jacques Marquette, were the first Europeans to explore and map the majority of the Mississippi River.

In 1675 he married Claire-Francoise Bissot, and they had one child, a boy, Jean-Baptiste.

In 1680 he was given the Island of Anticosti by King Louis XIV of France. He built a fort here and settled here after his travels. Louis died on the island in 1700.

Louis Joliet made another expedition to explore the coast of Labrador.
