What Position is fuel reserve on a Harley Davidson 1999 Fatboy Fuel cutoff valve?

Turn on the fuel valve by pointing the lever DOWN to the "normal" position. (Note: Sideways is the "off" position and UP is the "reserve" position.) Again, 6 o'clock is ON, 9 o'clock is OFF, 12 o'clock is RESERVE. A quick mnemonic to help remember which position is reserve: when you flip the lever UP to the 12 o'clock position, it's time to gas UP. "Lever UP = time to gas UP."
