Sodium oxalate is the archaic name for sodium ethanedioate.

It s structure is '-

Na^(+))-)^-O-(O=)C-C(=O)-O^(-)-Na^(+)

It is a largely covalently bonded molecule, but the two sodiums are bonded ionically.

From the above formula, and referring

to the Periodic Table for atomic masses, we have :-

2 x C = 1 x 12 = 24

4 x O = 4 x 16 = 64

2 x Na = 2 x 23 = 46

24 + 64 + 46 = 134 is the molar mass of sodium ethanedioate.
