Can congress remove members of the cabinet?

Congress does not have the direct authority to remove members of the cabinet. Cabinet members are appointed by the President and can be dismissed by the President at any time. However, Congress can influence cabinet members' positions through oversight, investigations, and by withholding funding or refusing to confirm a nominee. In extreme cases, Congress can initiate impeachment proceedings against a cabinet member, but this is rare and involves a lengthy process.
