Do you get paid extra for public holidays at McDonald's?

I'm sure most McDonald's pay employees extra on public holidays. How much extra depends on local laws.

In New Zealand, for example, public holiday laws require employees to be paid time-and-a-half and a day in lieu if they work on public holidays. That means a employee working on the national minimum wage of $12.75/hr working on a public holiday must be paid $19.13/hr, and that employee is entitled to an extra paid day off to be taken in the future (normal holiday-time negotiation conditions apply)
