The correct spelling is "rajada," which in Spanish means "cracked." There is an exit in California on the 23 Fillmore Freeway with an exit towards Simi Valley and Moorpark named "Tierra Rejada Road." The translation is "cracked earth." Interesting way back prior to the 70s, someone in the Exit-Sign Painting Department had switched the "a" to and "e"...probably after a "margerita."
