Does today's press have advantages or disadvantages?

They're very influential but that itself roots off into having its own advantages and disadvantages too. A disadvantage is that they can be biased. Also if one party owns a newspaper they'll try ripping down other parties and vice versa.

An advantage are tabloids like 'The Sun' [Informal] and broadsheets like 'The Daily Mail' [Formal].
