Who made nikey shoes?

In 1971, salesperson Jeff Johnson dreamed of the Greek goddess of strength, speed, agility and victory Nike. He made a suggestion of the name, Nike, to Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight. Bowerman and Knight decided to use the moniker for its first pair of footwear to bear the "swoosh." Believe it or not, it was a pair of soccer cleats! In 1972, the first athletic shoe bearing the Nike name was introduced.
