How many gold medals did US bring home this past Olympics?

As of Thursday August 21st, the Chinese have 22 bronze, 15 silver, and 46 gold medals. The above paragraph was not written by me. But in the paragraph a bove some person says that china won 46 gold but on another web site it does say that in the 2008 olimics china won 51 gold medals.
