Following the end of Gunter's term as Governor, Oliver Henry Shoup (born December 13, 1869 in Champaign County, Illinois; died September 30, 1940 in Santa Monica, California) became the twenty-second Governor of Colorado, serving between January 14, 1919 and January 9, 1923.
