Flash floods are common in arid climates due to the typically hard, dry ground that cannot absorb water quickly. When heavy rainfall occurs, especially in a short period, the excessive water runoff cannot penetrate the soil, leading to rapid accumulation in low-lying areas. Additionally, the lack of vegetation in these regions means there is less natural barrier to slow down the flow of water, exacerbating the risk of sudden flooding.
