Who is Rizal?

Jose Rizal-a poet and a physicist but most of all a national hero of the Philippines,there is a town about 18-20 kilometers east of manila which bears is name .he was put on trial by the military in April 1896 for helping the people with his knowledge and going against the government. He was sentenced to death and thus became a hero to the people of the Philippines. They celebrate a national holiday for him each year.
