This outside shell is nearly one third of the methylphenidate, so do not dispose of it. The next part of the pill is a plasticy film over the acual pill carfully cut and peall film off with razor. You will be left with a pill that has three colors the white one is the rest of the methylphenidate(Ritalin) the other two colors are part of the sustained release system and react with each other to propel the medicine out (think baking soda and vinegar)
