Did Switzerland do anything for the US?

Government? Citizens?

Well... Switzerland is a part of Western Europe and (even if there are differences) therefore relatively culturally close to North America. US are not a direct allied force of Switzerland - as neutral country Switzerland does not join any side in conflicts and officially stays for its own (as the European power nations told Switzerland to do so since 1815).

Switzerland has the "second" headquarters of the UNO in Geneva (besides the HQ in the USA). Its role as mediator in conflicts - often two nations agree to meet on neutral ground - means it has also a lot to do with US governments. Switzerland has also the HQs of the international RED CROSS, the FIFA (world soccer), UEFA (European soccer), IIHF (world ice hockey), Centre universal postale (world post service), etc. and is overall an international country (where people from everywhere around the world can be found) - by the way Switzerland has 4 official national languages (due to its history).

The US government is usually seen critical in times of war - and less critical in times of peace. US citizens are maybe considered as self-conscious and "loud" (what does less apply for Swiss citizens)... some destinations of Switzerland are a fixed part of the "Americans visit Europe tour" - where people from US are very often.

In fact - if it's only about people from US visiting Switzerland

• the persons going to Switzerland from the USA will just be

tourists in a country full of tourists from everywhere (European countries, china, japan, India, ...). Swiss will not pay that much attention to them... it does simply not matter that much if they are from the USA or not.
