Does using Colloidal Silver cause detached retina?

I had pink eye and so did my husband and kid all at the same time. My husband had it the worst and the gal at Sprouts said to use Colloidal Silver. We did in all our eyes but lots of times in my husbands who had full blown hot red eyes goopy, not like ours. He went to the doc three days later and started antibiotics "Polymyxin B Sulfate and Trimethoprin Ophthalmic" or something close to that as it's such fine print I can't read the exact spelling. Anyway.... within a few days, pink eye starts to go away, but not completely.

One week later, loss of vision in a cloud he described as looking through brown panty hose in one area on his left eye that blocked his nose area view. Went to the opthomalogist and he saw nothing. Got worse over the weekend. Went back to optho. He still saw nothing. Went to a retina specialist, emergency detached retina surgery the next day. At this time: He is laying beside me in pain and can't see as the surgery was last night. Too early to tell if surgery was successful or not.
