Tell him it is apparent something is wrong and you would like to work it out but can not do so without him talking. If he still declines to talk, let him know how you feel about him, but will leave him to his silence. This is assuming he is not depressed or physically ill. Communication is everything in a relationship. If he's unwilling to communicate what's wrong then you have to be the one to set the rules. Tell him you aren't putting up with his moods, and if he really cared and trusted you he'd have no problem communicating with you. If he still doesn't then it's time to hit the road and leave him to his own demise. By letting him get away with this you are enabling him to act in this fashion and who wants to be around a moody person constantly who won't give you one clue as to why they feel down about something.
