Are there eagles in the Blue Ridge Mountains?

I live about 20 miles from Skyline Drive in Port Republic, Va. and one week ago I spotted a Bald Eaglein an Alfalfa feed beside my house. I know it was an eagle because there had been buzzards feeding on 2 dead foxes in the feild. When I looked out there was a large bird with a white head, bright yellow beak and white tail feathers feeding on the carcasses.
