On a 2001 VW Passat where is the oil filter located how do you replace it and is there a diagram?

Up front on the drivers side. In order to remove and install easily you have to remove the big plastic pan that covers the bottom of the engine. Have a good oil filter wrench handy in case it is hard to get off.
