The quote is originally from Mark Twain = Samuel Langhorne Clemens (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910). It has also been attributed to both Will Rogers (November 4, 1879 – August 15, 1935) and John Maynard Keynes (June 5, 1883 – April 21, 1946), who were both probably quoting Mark Twain.
