I am a heroin addict and have been clean and sober for almost 3 years and I still have the scares on my neck, groin area, feet and arms. The reddness and longterm bruising will subside and they will become less noticeable, yet the scarring will remain but soften after time. It took me a long time to where short sleeve shirts again, I am a mom and didn't want people to see my scars while I was with my son. Now the only person to notice them, is me.
