What bike does Ewan McGreggor ride?

In 1994, McGreggor did a motorcycle trip with friend and fellow actor Charley Boorman and cameraman Claudio von Planta. The trip took the three from London to New York by way of Europe, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhastan, Mongolia and Canada. The trip was 22,345 miles and formed the basis of the television series and best-selling book "Long Way Around". On this trip, McGreggor rode a BMW R1150GS Adventure.

In 2007, the team reunited with additional crew to ride from Scotland to Cape Town, South Africa. This became the basis for "Long Way Down". On this trip, BMW's R1200GS Adventure was used.
