There is no exact timeline. Some transmen transition socially without hormones or surgery. Those transitioning medically may choose to have top surgery and not do hormones, or choose to do hormones and not have surgery. In some states it is possible to change gender markers on your id with a doctor's letter. To change federal id you must have a surgeon's letter.
