How are saint Francis of Assisi and saint Clare of Assisi related?

Saint Francis of Assisi founded the Franciscan order, and Saint Clare was his close friend and the founder of the Order of Poor Ladies, later known as the Poor Clares. They shared a strong spiritual bond and worked together to establish their respective religious orders in Assisi, Italy.
