There can be, in a way. Some tornadoes have subvortices within the main circulation. Usually these cannot be see, but in some cases, when there is just the right amount of moisture and not too much dust, these subvortices can appear as separate funnels. A tornado will usually not have more than two or three subvortices at a time, but some have been observed to have as many as eight funnels.
