Where did the term Hooky Street originate?

Hooky means stolen or otherwise dubiously sourced. In the UK many markets are on streets which are closed off for the markets to run. Hooky Street means a market where you can buy "hooky goods". Often these goods are of lower quality and cannot be returned. However they can be bought cheap.

The phrase Hooky Street was popularized in the British sitcom Only Fools an Horses whose protagonist was a small time marketeer, Derek (Del Boy) Trotter, who was always after a get rich quick scheme, and often on Hooky Street.
