What are the principal goals that both the master and the indentured servant are seeking in the cintract?

The master was looking for cheap labor, while the servant was looking for transatlantic passage to the new world. In exchange for the voyage over the servant would pay back his master by working for 3-7 years. After that te master would grant them freedom dues including a few barrels of corn, a suit of clothes, and perhaps a small parcel of land.
