How consciousness affects behavior?

When we are conscious we act one what we think will be socialy correct, or what we think others want us to do, but when our subconscious mind is in control we can have thoughts beyond anyones imadgination. we could have thoughts about canniblism, but never act on them, because we know that people will find it wrong.
