What year was the H and R Topper Model 88 made in?

Not an easy question- the model designation has changed, been brought back, company has changed hands 3 times, etc. The model 88 started out as the economy model but soon became the standard model. Inthe catalogs the Topper name as used by the original company was dropped sometimes before 1978 only to be brought back by NEF/H&R 1871 in 1987
