The UK Minimum Wage varies according to your age and the nature of your occupation. The amount refers to the sum payed per hour. As of 1st October 2011, the Minimum Wage was split into four categories:

21+ rate: £6.08

18-20 rate: £4.98

16-17 rate: £3.68

Apprenticeship rate: £2.60

(apprentices under 19 & those 19+ in 1st year of apprenticeship)
