How long for glucosamine to work?

Some people swear by it However according to tests that have been caried ou over the years the efficacy of glucosimine is in doubt. It did nothing for me and I took it for more then a year to see what would happen. Alas it didn't work. and now I am walking around with a metal hinge for an elbow.
