What are the hemispheres divided by?

A hemisphere is half a sphere so there can only be two - at a time.

The equator divides the Earth's surface into Northern and Southern hemispheres.

The prime meridian and the antipodal longitude (180°E and 180°W, near the International Date Line) divide the Eastern and Western hemispheres.
