Can you tow a car with a strap?

Towing a car with a strap is a very bad idea. The strap may be strong enough for you to pull the car, but what happens when you turn a corner or hit the brakes? You need something better than a strap to make sure that the car you're towing doesn't ram into the back of the car you're driving.
