What is the differences between the Aztecs and the Mayas?

First of all, the Aztec civilization was situated in central Mexico, and the Maya civilization was situated in Guatemala, the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, and in parts of El Salvador, Honduras, and Belize. Also, the Maya were way more technologically advanced and actually had a written language. The Maya had more effective weapons than the Aztecs as well. The Maya had a significantly larger empire than that of the Aztecs, and also were just generally more awesome. Although these two great Central American super power civilizations were quite similar, the Maya civilization, without a doubt, was far more superior than the Aztec civilization.
