There is no one specific scientific name in binomial nomenclature for ants as there are many different species, however all ants belong to the family Formicidae, which makes all ants formicidae (Which is both the singular and plural form). This term, formicidae could be used as the scientific name for ants as they are the only member of family Formicidae. There are also some common scientific names for specific species of ants including:
