When should wedding invitations be ordered?

Wedding invites should be ordered anywhere from 4 to 6 months before the wedding and should be sent out anywhere from 1 to 2 months before the actual date. You don't want to send them out too early because people will forget that they have a wedding to show up to however you don't want to send them out too late in case people have already made plans.
