What is a social gambler?

A social gambler is a person who gambles because it is a way of socializing, much in the way that a social drinker drinks to be sociable. In comparison, serious gamblers are entirely concerned with the money that they either win or lose when they gamble, not with the social experience of gambling, and serious drinkers are alcohol addicts.
