Who was Prince Paris of Troy?

Prince Paris of Troy was a mortal man picked by Zeus to judge on the fairest of the goddesses Aphrodite, Athena, and Hera. In order to bribe him, Athena offered him all the knowledge in the world for picking her, Hera offered to him the position of ruler of the world, and Aphrodite offered him the most beautiful woman in the world - Helen of Sparta. Being young and foolish, Paris picked Aphrodite, and that night, he kidnapped Helen of Sparta and secreted her away to Troy. This infuriated the Greeks and they immediately set upon attacking Troy.
