How long can you keep smoked sausage if it has not been opened?

Some sausages are actually formulated and packaged to be shelf stable. Read the label on the packaging and go by the use-by date and storage indicated. If it is the type that must be refrigerated, the maximum time it could be left out would be 1 - 2 hours.
