Why does President Obama wear a masonic ring?

There are detailed photos of the gold ring Obama has worn for almost 30 years, and I just read another article asserting that Barack Obama has been wearing a golden ring that marks him as a follower of Islam, as the ring carries a portion of of the Shahadah, an Islamic profession of faith. If the photographs are real there is evidence that this is exactly what is on President Obama's gold ring.
